about

In late November 2021 my good friend Triscus and I packed up all our modular synth gear and held our annual ‚Nerdweek‘ at the North Sea coast in an area called Wangerland.

There is this stark horizontal landscape, with wide stretches of green marshes wrested from the wadden sea and a vast open sky. Scattered trees bent by constant wind, strong dikes and islands along the horizon. The weather here often changes in an instant.

A good part of my early childhood I spent in this agricultural countryside. In a deep, grounded and emotional way that week was like coming home.

So each morning I got up way before sunrise to do a little improvised session on my modular synth to greet the morning and to pour some of these emotions into sound.
Making music in „The Morning Hours“ is really dear to me – when the day is still pure and the heart wide open.

In the emerging tracks you’ll find the North Wind, ripples on water, clay soil, the morning dew, a sunrise, foggy wetlands and a deserted garden.
